Black Chain Link Wire
Black Chain Link Wire comes in 50' rolls, so make sure to measure off the linear footage of your project before you do your ordering. You can cut your chain link wire after you buy it, so get extra, the last thing you want to do is under order and not have enough to complete the fence.
The wire needs to be unrolled and fastened to the fence with the proper fittings. It's most common to set all your posts about 10' apart ahead of time and then wait for the concrete to dry. Once the concrete is dry you can put the eyetops on the posts and then install the top rail. Use the top rail to guide your wire as you unroll it and fasten it to your posts.
Black wire is most often sold in 8 or 9 gauge thickness, a bit more than the 11 gauge that is most common for galvanized chain link. The vinyl coating gives black that extra bit of thickness and the look that many people enjoy especially when compared to galvanized.
Installation of your fence is best done with 2 people. When you are unrolling the wire and trying to attach it to the posts, it's easiest if one person unrolls and the other person uses the fittings to clamp the wire down.
